How consignment works

From your floor to a buyer, with one point of contact

You ship the machine to our warehouse. We receive it, photograph it, write it up, list it and market it to buyers worldwide. When it sells, you are paid the agreed share. None of it needs a project team on your side.

  1. You

    Tell us what you have

Send the list, however rough. We say plainly whether it is something we can sell.

  2. Together

    Terms agreed in writing

Commission, payment timing, storage and the rest, in writing before anything moves.

  3. You ship, we help

    Ship it to Roebuck

The machine comes to our own warehouse in South Carolina. We help arrange rigging and freight.

  4. Our work

We sell it, you are paid

We inspect, photograph, list and market it, and handle every buyer. When it sells, you are paid the agreed share.

Before anything moves

The terms are in writing

The first question every consignor asks is what they are agreeing to, so we put it in front of you first. The agreement covers all 8 of these, and you have it before the machine leaves your floor.

  • The commission, and the share you are paid
  • When you are paid after the machine sells
  • The storage arrangement while it is with us
  • The minimum period the machine stays with us
  • What happens if it does not sell
  • Who pays inbound freight and rigging
  • How the machine is insured while it is in our care
  • What preparation and cleaning we do at our end

Start where you are

Surplus machines, a closing plant, or slow stock

3 situations, 3 different conversations. Pick the one that matches yours and we will keep the questions short.

Push-button control panel on a horizontal foam saw, illuminated start and stop buttons.

One machine, or a few

A line was replaced, a product was discontinued, or a machine has been idle for 2 years and is standing in a bay you want back. Tell us what it is and we will tell you whether we can sell it.

A whole line, or a whole plant

A site is closing or a line is stopping, and there is a lease date on it. We work to your dates and we tell you plainly which machines are worth consigning and which are not.

A dealer with slow stock

A machine outside your own market, or one that has sat for 2 seasons. You do not need consignment explained. You need reach and terms.

Why consign with us

A machinery dealer since 1975, with a warehouse of its own

Consignment works when the seller has somewhere real to put a machine and buyers who already come to them. That is the whole of our case.

  • In the trade since 1975

The same work ever since: take production machinery a plant no longer needs and put it in front of a plant that does.

  • Our own warehouse in Roebuck

Your machine goes somewhere real: indoors, on the ground and near a dock, where it is inspected, photographed and shown.

  • We do the selling work

Photographs, the written specification, the listing, every inquiry, inspection request and negotiation. One point of contact.

  • It stays yours until it sells

This is consignment, not a sale to us. You are paid the agreed share when the machine sells to a buyer.

  • Every term in writing first

Commission, payment timing, storage and the rest are agreed in writing before the machine ships.

  • A straight answer

If an auction or scrap is the better route for what you have, we say so before you pay for freight.

The one thing consignment does not give you

A date. A consigned machine sells when its buyer appears. If you need a date more than you need the price, an auction is the honest answer and we will say so.

Plant closures and surplus

Closing a plant, or stopping a line?

Consign the good machines with us. They ship to our warehouse in Roebuck, we sell them to users, and you are paid the agreed share. We work to your lease date and tell you plainly which machines are worth consigning and which are not.

  • We work to your lease date and your utilities date.
  • We tell you which machines are worth consigning and which are not.
  • We do not publish your site, your address or your list.
  • If an auction is the better route for the bulk of it, we say so.

Send us the list

A rough list is enough. We tell you whether we can sell it, what kind of buyer we would be selling it to, and what the agreement would look like. Asking costs nothing and commits you to nothing.

  • Confidential by default. We do not publish your name or your site.
  • Every commercial term agreed in writing before the machine ships.
  • If we think it is a hard sell, we say so before you pay for freight.
  • If an auction is the better route for what you have, we tell you that too.

Send the list, however rough it is. I will tell you whether we can sell it, what kind of buyer we would be selling it to, and the cases where the honest answer is that you do not need us.

Your machinery
What are you consigning
Make, model, year, serial number if you can find it, quantity, condition, whether it is still under power, and what tooling goes with it. A rough list is enough to start. Photographs help more than descriptions. Reply to our first email with them and they reach the same file.
Where and when
City and state, or country. We do not publish it.
A best guess is fine.
